@Jayewells has finally released Dirty Magic, a new series shes developed and released and i couldnt be more happy. I am a huge fan of Jaye’s and have had the pleasure to meet her a few times and shes such a sweetheart who is as entertaining as her characters. I was saddened that the Sabine Kane series had ended but excited that a new world and character was coming soon and the time has come.

Today was the day. I was excited and as soon as i got home from work i dropped everything rushed to my computer to listen to the new single that @mariahcarey was releasing on Facebook exclusively. I was excited, i was hype, i was stoked and then i was disappointed.

While i love the title of the song/album I just keep trying to think of whats going on with Mariah. Triumpant was a disaster with all those rappers on it and i was like ok shes entitled to one, Almost home and bring it on home were lovely songs, #beautiful was a great song and I would still have it on rotation had it not been remixed to hell and back and so i got overloaded on that song and had to retire it but i loved it. I was excited to get new music after hearing the album had been pushed back from the earlier release date.

All the people who know and know of me knows that i love Mariah Carey…I have been a fan from way back then and will continue to be. I am confident that the album will have loads of great music and this bump will be like old news before i know it but i am just not feeling this new song as of right now. While i do love the bridge where she flexes her vocal abilities the rest of it just seems like the wrong music or timing of the lyrics is just off and the song just seems flat. I am confused.

Nicole Wray and Terri Walker teamed together and formed a duo called Lady. I had heard about this a while back and never really heard anything else about it. I recently came across it and had a listen and i must say i love it. Nicole Wray is an artist from back in the late nighties who was apart of Missy Elliot’s Goldmine records. She had the hit song “make it hot” and another single that I loved named “eyes better not wonder”. Nicole disappeared off the scene for a while and  reemerged in 2004 with a single ” If i was your girlfriend” and was supposed to be releasing an album through her new label Rocafella. Jay-z and damon dash parted ways and the label was split or dissolved and Nicole fell by the wayside again.

Terri Walker is an English R&B and soul singer-songwriter. Walker has released three albums in the United Kingdom, Untitled, L.O.V.E, and I Am. She also provided the majority of the vocals for Shanks & Bigfoot’s debut album Swings and Roundabouts. I came across her online while searching music blogs and listened to her albums from time to time.

Recently Lady has been touring and fans have noticed that Terri Walker is no longer a part of Lady and has decided to focus on solo projects. Nicole Wray is simply going by Lady now alone with a few background singers. I personally love the mesh of their voices and wish Terri would reconsider. Also i wish Nicole would consider adding a new member to the duo less duo…Fantasia would be awesome. I could just see those two tearing up some songs but of course Fanny is doing fine all by herself but hey two checks could be nice right.

There are a lot of nice cuts from the album and it has a very motown old school soul sound to it. Gladys Knight and the Pips or The Supremes style. This album is banging and some of my faves are Money, Get Ready, Tell The Truth….to name a few. Check it out if you like good soul music.

So the weekend is approaching and I finally get some time to relax and what better way to do so than with a good book. One of my favorite authors Jaye Wells @jayewells

I have been a fan of Jayes since i picked up Red Headed Stepchild, the first in the series and have loved her since. Jaye released five books in the series and two novellas including rusted veins. I have actually had the pleasure of meeting Jaye at a couple of book signings and shes one of the most entertaining and funniest authors out there and it will read through in her writing.
